Supply chain operations expert turned software founder. 5+ years managing vendor operations for major automotive OEMs across Europe.
Background
Before founding Sotro, I spent five years in the trenches of supply chain operations, managing vendor relationships for one of Europe's specialist manufacturers. Our customers were household names in automotive—the OEMs whose vehicles you see on every highway.
I managed high-mix, low-volume (HMLV) manufacturing operations: 7,000+ unique units annually across 40+ suppliers spread across multiple countries. At peak, I was juggling six concurrent projects across twenty suppliers—coordinating deliveries, chasing confirmations, and trying to keep production lines running.
My tools? Email, spreadsheets, and sticky notes. My reality? Endless hours copying data between systems, chasing suppliers who ignored portal requests, and hoping nothing slipped through the cracks.
I expanded our manufacturing footprint to three additional countries, managed projects worth over €7 million, and optimized logistics routes across Europe to minimize costs and streamline VAT recovery. I learned what works in procurement—and more importantly, what doesn't.
The biggest lesson? Supplier portals don't work. They shift the burden onto vendors who are already stretched thin. The solution isn't another system for suppliers to ignore—it's meeting them where they already work: their inbox.
That insight became Sotro.
I combined my supply chain experience with my software engineering background to build the tool I wished I had: an AI agent that chases suppliers through email, extracts data from their responses, and updates your systems automatically—without asking suppliers to change anything.

2026 Predictions: The Rise of the No-Code Supply Chain
AI becomes invisible. Integration projects die. Human-AI teams emerge. Three converging forces are killing the old supply chain model - and creating something radically simpler.
The Supplier Reliability Index (SRI): Moving Beyond 'On-Time' to 'Predictive'
Traditional OTIF metrics are rear-view mirrors - they tell you after you failed. The Supplier Reliability Index predicts which suppliers are at risk weeks before they miss a delivery, combining historical performance, regional disruption data, and communication patterns.
Agentic AI vs. Automation: Understanding the Difference That Defines 2026
Automation does the same thing faster. Agentic AI achieves goals autonomously. The difference: automation sends an auto-reply; an AI agent ensures your part arrives by Tuesday - drafting emails, escalating risks, and updating systems without waiting for human input.
Supplier Portals Are Dead: Why Email-First AI Is the Future of Procurement
Over 60% of supplier portal implementations fail to meet adoption goals. Email-first AI achieves 100% supplier compliance with zero onboarding - because suppliers just reply to emails they already use.
The Hidden Cost of Manual PO Management: Why Your Buyers Spend $45,000/Year Chasing Emails
The median buyer earns $75,650/year, yet 35% of procurement headcount is stuck on tactical work. Add production downtime costing up to $500,000/hour, and manual PO management becomes the most expensive hidden cost in manufacturing.
